2008 INFORMATION

           TRASH/CLEAN UP/RECYCLING/HAZARDOUS WASTE

                                                                                         

                                                                        HOUSEHOLD TRASH

Household trash may be taken to the municipal complex, 150 Rocktown-Lamb. Road, every Saturday between 8 AM and 1 PM.  Contact Township Clerk for free permit.  NO DROP OFF PRIOR TO 8 AM!!

 

                                                                          CLEAN UP DAY(S)

Clean Up Day(s) are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, May 17 and November 15, 2008 from 8 AM - 2 PM at the municipal complex on Rocktown-Lamb. Road.  Items that will NOT be accepted include:  Propane tanks, gasoline, chemicals or other explosives, concrete, rocks, earth or tree stumps, and automobiles.  Car tires are limited to two (2) per family or prior permission of the Waste Security Officer.  The quantity of building materials is restricted and will be received per hauler discretion.  Residents MUST have the yellow colored Trash Permit.

                                                                               RECYCLING

Recycling is a LAW!  There will be spot checks of household garbage.  A summons will be issued to anyone with recyclables in household trash.  Should you have any specific questions regarding recycling, please contact the Clerk's Office at 397-2054 Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

 

SATURDAY DEPOT INFORMATION AND DATES:  The following will be collected between 8 AM and 1 PM at the municipal complex.   Please, NO DROP OFF PRIOR TO 8 AM.

            NEWSPAPERS - All bundles must be cross-tied with string or twine only.

            CORRUGATED CARDBOARD - Must be flattened and cross-tied with string or twine only. 

MAGAZINES, CATALOGS, OFFICE/BOND/COPIER/COMPUTER PAPER - Bundle together and cross-tie with string or twine only. 

The following items can be CO-MINGLED!  No need to sort by item category.

CLEAR, BROWN AND GREEN GLASS - Remove rings and caps from food and beverage containers and rinse.  No need to separate by color.  No cups, drinking glasses, dishes, ovenware, window glass, lead crystal, T.V. tubes, light bulbs or mirrors, please.

            ALUMINUM - Includes all aluminum beverage and food cans.  Rinse and/or remove all food residue.

            TIN CANS - Remove ends, if possible, rinse and flatten.

HDPE, PETE AND #1 AND #2 PLASTICS - All colors accepted.  Check for recycling triangle on bottom of container for numbers/letters listed.  Remove caps and rings.   Drain, rinse, and

BRUSH CHIPPING: Please bring your trash card! Brush may be dropped off at the Municipal Complex in the designated area from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the following dates the remainder of 2008:

                              July 12, 26                    Sept. 6, 20                  Nov. 1, 15, 29

      Aug. 9, 23                    Oct. 4, 18                    Dec. 13, 27

Rules: Normal yard maintenance only PLEASE! Brush must be tied with twine, (no wire or plastic binding) in bundles up to four feet long. NO stumps, vines, briars, thorny plants, flowers, grass, leaves, metal, posts, wire, rocks, dirt, or building materials. NO limbs over 6" in diameter or with wire grown in and NO brush from clearing an undeveloped lot or residential wooded areas will be accepted! Mulch chips are available.

 

CHRISTMAS TREES:   Discarded Christmas trees, stripped of all decoration, may be dropped off after the holidays, in the line with the above schedule, at the Municipal Complex, 150 Rocktown-Lamb. Road.  Designated area is marked.  Chips are available.             

 

HUNTERDON COUNTY HAZARDOUS WASTE CLEANUP:  Hunterdon County holds a number of hazardous waste collection days each year.  The hours are from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the County Garage Complex on Route 12 next to the County Library. Tentative dates for Household Hazardous Waste Collection in 2008 are: March 8, July 12, and November 8. Tentative Electronics Collection dates for 2008 are: March 29, and September 27.
