FOR IMMEDIATE  RELEASE

West Amwell Students to Receive Free Trees

Free tree seedlings will be handed-out by the West Amwell Township Community Forestry Committee to students of West Amwell Elementary School on Friday, April 27 beginning at 2:00 pm in celebration of Arbor Day.

The seedlings will be accompanied by planting and care instructions prepared by South Hunterdon Regional High School Agricultural students under the direction of their teacher, Mr. Dave Ritter.  Dr. Todd Fay, superintendent of West Amwell Elementary School, is developing an educational program to coordinate with the event.  Mayor Ron Shapella will be joining the celebration.

The New Jersey Tree Foundation’s Celebrate Arbor Day!/Make a Difference with Trees! is providing the seedlings free of charge.  The assortment will include white pines, green ash, sweet gum, willow oaks and red oaks.

West Amwell Elementary School is located at 1417 Route 179 in West Amwell Township.
