Mission Statement:  

The mission of the Community Forestry Committee is to ensure the preservation, protection and stewardship of a healthy and safe community forest for the economic, environmental and aesthetic values provided to the township residents and visitors.

2nd Annual "My Favorite Tree in West Amwell " Photo Contest

     April 1 through August 29, 2008

     The Committee will be sponsoring a photography contest.  The contest is open to all area residents.  The photo must be of a tree or group of trees located in West Amwell .  All entries must be a standard 4" x 6" print with tree ID (species, if known, and location of the tree or trees), and photographer's name, address and phone number on the back.  Please print this information on a label and attach it to the back of the photograph.  DO NOT write directly on the photograph.  Students should include the school they attend and their grade for the 2008-2009 school year.  Ribbons will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries.  Winning photos and will be announced and on display at the West Amwell Township Country Fair in September.  They will be featured in a following edition of the Lambertville Beacon and placed on display in the lobby of the municipal building.  Entries deemed Honorable Mention will also be on display.  All residents are encouraged to enter, especially school children.  The winning entries will also be posted on our website.  All entries must be received at the West Amwell Township building c/o Community Forestry Committee, 150 Rocktown-Lambertville Rd. Lambertville , NJ 08530   by 3:30 p.m. August 29, 2008.

    Noon to 5:00 p.m.

     The Community Forestry Committee will be hosting a booth with with a vast array of of handouts for you to look at and take home.  The winning entries of our 2nd Annual  "My Favorite Tree in West Amwell " photo contest will be announced and on display at our booth.
