The Board of Health relies on the Hunterdon County Health Department, P.O. Box 2900, Flemington, NJ  08822, 908.788.1351 www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/health.htm. for its environmental and health expertise.  However, the local board is involved with approval and/or denial of waivers outside the jurisdiction of the County.  The Township well ordinance was developed by the Board of Health, to insure any on-site water supply system is sufficient to meet the domestic water needs of the homeowner or user.  Results of the well test(s) performed are retained by the Board for analysis and future research.

Septic and Well Information:  Informational pamphlets on well and septic system care are available through the Township as well as the County Health Department.  It is recommended that septic tanks be pumped every three years.  Having problems with your septic?  Repairs are contracted privately but are reviewed and inspected by the County Health Department. The repair form is available through www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/hlthserv/.

Well testing is also contracted privately, although the Environmental Commission sponsors a well testing program every few years.  Contact the Environmental Commission for more information.  Pamphlets on West Nile Virus, Mosquito and Vector Control, Lead Paint Hazard are also available at the Township Office.

Temporary Food Concession License: Having a catered event?  A temporary food concession license is required. The cost is $50.00 for three days. Applications are available at the Township office.

Pigs: Thinking about raising pigs? A license is required if you have more than I 0.  Stop by for a copy of the ordinance.
